for our 2011 Annual General Meeting, held in conjunction with the 2011 Equine Canada Annual Conference,
held January 24-31, 2011 at the Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa, ON.

2011 AGM KEYNOTE SPEAKER
“Animal Welfare & Animal Rights Issues Facing the Horse Industry”
Cindy Schonholtz
Ms. Schonholtz spoke about mobilizing grassroots horse owners to support the horse industry and their associations' public policies with respect to livestock welfare and related government issues. Click here to view a PDF file copy of Ms. Schonholtz's presentation.
Cindy serves as the Director of Industry Outreach for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). In this position she handles all livestock welfare and related government relations for the association. Additionally, she oversees the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund and the youth outreach efforts. She is the President of the Animal Welfare Council, Vice President of the National Animal Interest Alliance, serves on the Animal Welfare Committee of the American Horse Counil and is a member of the Public Policy Committee of the American Quarter Horse Association. She served as the Executive Director for the American Youth Horse Council for four years and was on the Colorado Horse Council Board of Directors for 10 years. Cindy has been involved with horses since she got her first pony at age 10. She has shown American Quarter Horses in many disciplines and competed in rodeos in barrel racing in High School and professionally.
